Whether you are in search of spectacular landscapes or a stunning backdrop to a family photo this tour has you in mind. We have collected not only our favourite views but those that inspired the very first Guidebook to the Lakes into a stunning tour for 2016. It is not all about scenic photos and you will have time to explore some of the prettiest villages in the Lake District . On this tour you will appreciate that great views can be seen from the roadside but truly stunning views that make you stop and exclaim 'wow!' require a little effort. We encourage you to join your guide on short 15 min walks to experience those 'wow!' views tjhat you will not see on any other tour.
Early explorers in the Lake District followed guidebooks that identified viewing stations where truly 'wow!' views were found that showed the Lake District at its most picturesque. The finale of our tour is a visit to the recently restored Claife Station above Windermere before taking the ferry across the lake in the footsteps of those pioneers of Lakeland tourism.
